A lovely example of the patterned opal that has come from the Grawin area of late.
These have been paired up by sawing through the opal seam to get what is called a book leaf pattern ( a mirror image).
I think the picture is close to the real thing in this case. The colours are even a bit more pronounced than in the pic with a lot more mauve/ salmon pinks rolling across the face with movement.
These have a flat back and a domed face.
