Junda is the administrative centre for the Barcoo Shire, Jundah
provides a good range of outback attractions for visitors.
The town itself has its share of quaint and individual features,
and the surrounding districts attractions range from a national
park to a site made famous by A.B. Banjo Paterson in
his poem, A Bush Christening.

For people who are driving from Windorah, its a journey of an hour
and a quarter through the mulga and red soil country (the last 10km are
sealed). Jundah itself is at the centre of sheep and cattle grazing land.
The Thomson River is just outside town. You might catch a yellowbelly,
jew or bream.
Attractions
Opals, magnificent scenery, pioneer history, great fishing and good facilities
are all part of the mosaic of the Barcoo Shire. Encompassing the towns
of Windorah, Jundah and Stonehenge, the shire contains much to attract
travellers. Here, people can visit the famous channel country, climb magnificent
red sandhills, explore national park country and experience the poignancy
of the past.
